Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) Scheme

This scheme was funded by Government of India/State Government in the ratio of 65:35 respectively but presently Government of India has changed its grant percentage to 60:40. A Detailed Project Report (D.P.R.) related to this scheme was sent to the Government of India along with the proposal and the main objective of this scheme is to enhance the quality of level of education in Colleges/Technical Institutions and to establish sufficient number of technical educational institutions so that quality education can be provided to the youth. In financial year 2015-16 under this scheme, amount of Rs.2.11 Cr. per institute is approved by the Government of India for 02 Government Engineering Colleges in Basti and Gonda, in which after adding state share total amount of Rs.10.00 crore was released by government order dated 28.01.2016. Besides this, in financial year 2017-18, Rs.9.58 crore was approved as second instalment for each institution by Government of India, against which amount of Rs.7.26 crore has been released for each institution by government order dated 07.02.2018. In addition to this, against Rs. 55.00 Crore for upgradation of Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, Kanpur to Technical University amount of Rs.16.50 crore as first installment has been approved by the Government of India and Rs.7.50 crore has been approved additionally for the development and strengthening of Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur. Attempts are being made to make most of the benefits of this scheme for the promotion of technical education.
