In order to develop the India and develop its fame at international level, Technical Education of country has contributed a lot. Due to the increasing popularity of science, technology and technical education among general public and particularly among the youth, there has been a multi-dimensional development in the field of technical education. As a result of this development, where on one hand skilled human were created for engineering management and employment opportunities were provided to the youth along with economic development, on the other hand, due to the availability of excessive engineering institutes in the private sector, the quality has definitely been raised. The inclusive growth of this field is a major challenge in the current scenario.

The State Government has made its aim of providing quality education along with the development of infrastructure facilities in technical education and to impart education to the students who are employed in high level of employment. In view of this, various programs and schemes are being conducted. Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University, after 17 years of its establishment, transferred to the new campus this year and started. We are dedicated to promote Madan Mohan Malviya Technical Education University, Gorakhpur and Harcourt Butler Technical University, Kanpur at international level. Government Engineering Colleges have also increased and new colleges are also being established with international infrastructure facilities. It is also being focused that regular faculty selection should be assured, so that education level could be made better. Special focus on quality improvement is also being given, with the Government of India's plans, the state government's budget and the financial support of the university.

After construction of new buildings and hostels in Diploma Level Government Polytechnic Institutes, infrastructural problems are solved at some extent. While using modern technique, to face the challenge of lack of trainers ‘Virtual Class’ are established and in forth coming years number classrooms will increase. To facilitate the entrance examination result, result of semester examination and marksheet and diploma etc. will be available online this year. The use of technology is also being considered in the method of examination and its evaluation process.

This year for the first time, institutions like Center for Advance Studies and Institute of Design will be started for Higher Technical Education. Arrangements have been made to provide new opportunities for learning to the students of the institute through the agreements with international organizations acclaimed by the universities. To promote research, Research Promotion Scheme is being implemented, where provision to provide financial help has also been made. Agreement with Energy efficiency Services Ltd. has also being made to lessen the consumption of energy in all buildings of department.

I hope that under the energetic supervision of Hon’ble Chief Minister and skilled supervision of Hon’ble Technical Education Minister, Technical Education Department will set milestones in near future.
