Deen Dayal Upadhyay Quality Improvement Program

On the occasion of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay birth centenary Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University is starting a program of Rs. 200 crore to improvise the condition of Government Aided Affiliated Technical Institutes & Government Technical Universities. Time period of program will be of 3 years. Major objectives of this program are mentioned below:

  • To Strengthen & Upgrade the infrastructure, labs of selected institutions.
  • To promote Research.
  • To promote the use of Renewable Energy.
  • To increase the opportunities of employment for students.
  • Development of E-resources
  • Development of services for handicaps.

Amount to be given under Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Quality Improvement Program:

  • Fund to be released to the institutes affiliated with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University:
    • Institute of Engineering and Technology – Rs.25 Crore
    • Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology, Sultanpur – Rs. 15 Crore
    • Bundelkhand Institute of Technology, Jhansi – Rs. 15 Crore
    • Uttar Pradesh Textile Technology Institute, Kanpur – Rs. 10 Crore
    • Faculty of Architecture, A.K.T.U. Lucknow – 10 Crore
    • Rajkiya Engineering College, Banda – Rs. 10 Crore
    • Rajkiya Engineering College, Bijnor – Rs. 10 Crore
    • Rajkiya Engineering College, Azamgarh – Rs.10 Crore
    • Rajkiya Engineering College, Ambedkarnagar – Rs.10 Crore
    • Rajkiya Engineering College, Kannauj – Rs. 10 Crore
    • Rajkiya Engineering College, Mainpuri – Rs. 10 Crore
    • Rajkiya Engineering College, Sonbhadra – Rs. 10 Crore
    • Uttar Pradesh Institute of Design, AKTU, Lucknow – Rs. 10 Crore
    • Centre of Advance Studies, AKTU, Lucknow – Rs. 15 Crore

    • Harcourt Butler Technology University, Kanpur – Rs. 15 Crore

This program will be of three years, in which amount of Rs.200 crore will be provided to Government Engineering Colleges & Technical Universities of Uttar Pradesh. Fund will be utilized under following particulars:

1- Infrastructure

60 percent of total fund will be utilized on the following-

  • Solar Plant
  • Gardening
  • Maintenance of hostels
  • Modernization of hostel kitchen
  • Upgradation of labs
  • Maintenance of equipment
  • Facilities for handicaps

Programs related to promote digitization, research & employment

40 percent of total fund will be utilized for the following:-

  • Automation/Governance
  • Purchase of journals from E-research-sindhu projects
  • Sarabhai Research Program
  • Construction of (MOOC’S)
  • Work for promoting Digital Technology
  • Strengthening of Training & Placement Cell
