SCHEMES OF GOVERNMENT OF INDIA

  • During financial year 2008-09, under the GOI scheme “Submission on Polytechnics action of skill development", total 41 polytechnics have been approved for construction and equipped with establishment related services.  Out of these 41, 38 polytechnics are functioning now.
  • During financial year 2010-11, 52 Women’s Hostels were approved under the GOI scheme 'Construction of Women's Hostel in Existing Polytechnics' and out of which construction work of 40 Women’s Hostel has been completed and these hostels have been made public useable.
  • Under the GOI scheme "Construction of Women's Hostel in Existing Polytechnics", DPR for reinforcement of 45 polytechnics (old institutes) were approved and action is being taken to reinforce them.
  • GOI scheme “Community Development Through Polytechnics” is approved for total 59 (42 Government and 17 aided) polytechnics.  Under this scheme short term (06 months) technical training is imparted to youths (boys/girls) in order to make them able to earn their livelihood by doing any technical work.   Under this training, generally short term and employment oriented programs are conducted like Motor Winding, Wiring, Auto Mechanic, Computer Typing, Beautician, Carpentry and Plumbing.
  • During 2009-10, 23 Polytechnics have been approved under Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Yojna (M.S.D.P) scheme and out of which, 13 polytechnics are functional.

UPGRADATION / STRENGTHENING OF OLD AND NEW INSTITUTES

  • Under the GOI scheme “Establishing the new Polytechnics” for constructed/under construction new polytechnics, a grant of Rs. 117.72 Crore is received since 2012-13 to 2014-15 for 39 Polytechnics against 41 institutes for supply of equipment, interior, books, furniture etc. Amount of Rs. 59.69 Crore has been expended against the received amount till 31.03.2019.  Remaining amount is being provisioned through budget. Proposals for administrative approval of Rs. 7.45 Crore against amount of Rs. 8.00 Crore as proposed in the budget for FY 2019-20, have been submitted to government and proposal for administrative approval for expense of Rs. 0.53 Crore will be sent to government shortly.
  • Under the GOI scheme “Upgradation/Reinforcement of Old Institutes” a grant of Rs. 45.00 Crore has been received for 49 institutes against 56 selected old institutes since FY 2012-13 to FY 2014-15.  At present process is on for upgradation/reinforcement of 45 institutes.   Rs. 22.84 Crores have been expended against received amount 45.00 Crore, till 31.03.2019.   Remaining amount is being provisioned through budget. Proposals for administrative approval of Rs. 2.15 Crore against amount of Rs. 5.00 Crore as proposed in the budget for FY 2019-20, have been submitted to government and proposal for administrative approval for expense of Rs. 1.57 Crore will be sent to government shortly.

SCHEMES OF STATE GOVERNMENT

  • For growth of technical education 28 Government polytechnics have been approved by state government and under the S.C.S.P./M.M.I.T. scheme, 19 polytechnics have been approved by the financial cooperation of Social Welfare Department, out of which 35 polytechnics are now functioning.
  • With the objective of providing hostel facilities to students, 15 Male hostels were approved under S.C.S.P./M.M.I.T. scheme. This job is being done through 100% financial cooperation of Social welfare Department and 10 hostels have been made functional.
  • With the objective of providing hostel facilities to girls students, 15 female hostels were approved under S.C.S.P./M.M.I.T. scheme. This job is being done through 100% financial cooperation of Social welfare Department and 4 hostels have been made functional.
  • Institutions are being identified without women’s hostel and with the objective to provide hostel facilities to girl student, 15 hostels are being constructed by the State Government.  This job is being discharged by technical; education Department.

FUTURE WORK PLAN

  • To complete remaining construction works of under construction 90 polytechnics.
  • To complete the work of under construction 98 hostels.  
  • To arrange equipment, interior, furniture and computer etc in the new polytechnics.
  • To complete the gap in the amenities to students, maintain building, manage equipment, interior, furniture, computer etc according to the norms of AICTE in the polytechnics being run since past.
  • To fill the vacant posts after getting approval of departmental service manual and implementation of the same as per AICTE norms.
  • To establish lab/shop in IRDT for quality of teaching-training.
  • To empower the central placement cell established in Joint Entrance Examination Council to generate more employment for students.
  • To conduct the examinations of the council in online mode.
  • To operate 54 Polytechnics on P.P.P. mode.
  • To make online the activities of department phase wise.
  • To use latest technology for improvement in quality of teaching-training, effective training to teachers, regular amendment in the syllabus, regular reinforcement of lab/shop, personality development of students.
  • To ensure attendance of students in Bio-Metric manner as per standards of Technical Education Council and linking the same with the good office of Joint Director and Directorate.   
  • To inspect the institutes in online way.
  • To held review meetings with the departmental officers through video conferencing.
  • To establish a smart class room in all the departments in all institutes.
  • To establish Language Lab and Virtual class room in all the institutes.
  • To ensure annual ranking of institutes.
